Don't miss this picture of a bull's heart in #France #Bergerac

Bonjour mes amis!
There is nothing like local produce- the kind you can find at all the markets in every village in France. We are reminded of how food should really taste. No picking vegetables when they are green and transporting them 3000km. No, these vegetables were picked that morning and transported with care to the market.
The abundance of tomatoes, at this market in Issigeac, was amazing.
I had to try one of each. The vendor was only too happy to let me taste them all. No salt nor pepper was needed to bring out the succulent flavour of each and every one of those tomatoes. I ended up buying several kgs.
My afternoon picnic consisted of chèvre, a baguette and sliced tomatoes. Dessert was a tarte au citron. So fresh, so simple and so delicious
Dinner that night, consisted of a tomato salad with homemade vinaigrette, duck and of course a bottle of the local Rosé from Château de Monbazillac
Eating in France is a joy. It is how our grandparents ate- from the land, organic and simple. The produce, at local markets, is flavourful, the meat is hormone free and the wine...
well that is another blog!
